Fire Safety Tips to Remember This Summer
6/3/2021 (Permalink)
The Fourth of July is just around the corner, which means barbecues, bonfires, boat rides and of course, booming fireworks displays. Unfortunately, the traditions and activities we hold dear come with a little downside: fire. More fires occur on the Fourth of July than on any other day of the year, and more fires occur in July than any other month of the year. That is why we recommend taking some time to do a little preparation for the holiday season. The following are some tips we recommend you keep in mind this summer.
General Safety Tips
- Test Your Fire Detectors
- Always have a Fire Extinguisher on hand
- Have a home fire evacuation plan
Grill Fire Safety Tips
- Clean your grill before use
- Position your grill away from potential hazards
- Keep children and pets away from the grill
Firework Safety Tips
- Read and follow firework instructions
- make sure there is always adult supervision
- Keep a hose and bucket of water on hand at all times
